First-run setup

Onboarding

On first launch, VoiceVault asks for microphone access, then background permission — then short teach screens for background survival (safe default: keep the app open for important takes) and mic interruption (Lost Mic). No required live labs. When setup is done, you land on the home recorder.

Steps

  1. Install VoiceVault from Google Play.
  2. Open the app — tap Allow on the microphone dialog.
  3. Accept the background / battery prompt when VoiceVault shows it.
  4. Complete Background survival teach screens. Choose the safe default (keep app open for important takes), or mark verified only if you already did a single-app VoiceVault swipe test. Guide: Background survival.
  5. Complete Mic interruption teach screens and confirm you understand Lost Mic. No live demo required. Guide: Mic. Management.
  6. You should see the default home screen with the record control ready.
  7. Tap record, speak, then stop — the file saves to your vault immediately.
